Hasta Siempre Comandante (1965)

Hasta Siempre, Comandante, is a Spanish song by Cuban composer, singer and guitarist Carlos Puebla. In 1965, the night after announcing Che Guevara's departure from the government, Puebla, seized by passion, composed what would become his most celebrated work, Hasta Siempre, Comandante, a true declaration of love for and hope in Che. The song's lyrics are a reply to revolutionary Che Guevara's farewell letter when he left Cuba, in order to foster revolution in Congo and later Bolivia, where he would be captured and executed.

Hasta siempre comandante es una canción compuesta por el compositor, cantante y guitarrista cubano Carlos Puebla en 1965. La partida de Ernesto Guevara, a seguir la lucha revolucionaria en otras tierras, impactó a Carlos Puebla de tal forma que la misma noche, sin poder dormir, compuso su obra más conocida, Hasta Siempre Comandante que se convertiría en un himno homenaje al heroico guerrillero que transcendería a todos los estilos de música y a casi todas las lenguas. La letra es una respuesta a la carta de despedida del Che Guevara, en el momento en que abandonó Cuba.

        I just want to say that no 004 in "other languages" is not really greek. I don't know what language it is unfortunately but I assure you greek it is not.
        On the other hand, no 005 which is indeed greek is credited to Vasilis Papakonstantinou, which is only a portion of the truth. That song was released in 2000 in APURIMAC's maxi-single entitled "Horis Sinora", by Minos-EMI record label. I had bought that disc which contained 4 songs dedicated to Che Guevara, one of them being "Che Guevara (Hasta Siempre)" the greek language version. The song is arranged by APURIMAC and is performed by Vasilis Papakonstantinou, Alkinoos Ioannidis, Lavrentis Mahairitsas, Christos Thivaios, Miltos Pashalidis, Dionysis Tsaknis and APURIMAC. So I guess it's fair to say it is a song by APURIMAC in collabotration with the other singers mentioned above. It is certainly not a song by Papakonstantinou alone and it does not belong to the "common mistakes" table. You can have a look at these liks to confirm what I'm saying:

        Now to my question (since relevant to ask it here) : There used to be an Youtube video, where it started with an Red star and black background and while the movie goes on for 1 min , you will see some of the Che Guevara's most memorable quotes and than the music it self starts. That person has a real strong voice and sounds like an audiance singing the chorus, do you have any idea who might sang that song? Seems to be deleted from Youtube and I can't find that version anywhere.

It is on her 1972 album 'Laula Kanssani Toveri' ['Sing With Me Comrade'] and the 2011 CD 'Sydameni Savuaa: Kohokohtia 1969-89'.
